The story of The Zoo officially starts in the early months of 2002, when two old friends, Mauro (bass) and Ivan (guitar soloist), decide to set up a tribute band which would accurately bring to light again the glories of historical bands never previously taken into consideration in Italy. Passionately fond of rock, hard rock, heavy metal, progressive and similar, Mauro and Ivan decide on the Scorpions: the German band has always been able to mix the powerful guitar riffs with the wonderful harp-like melodies typical in ballads. Then they involve two other friends, Frank (rythmic guitar) and Red (drums), and patiently build their first songs (Blackout, Rock You Like A Hurricane, Can't Live Without You and Dynamite), to understand if this starting point is the right one. Rehersal after rehersal, the four friends realise that they have hit the bull's eye with this choice : the Scorpions' songs suit their way of playing perfectly and the Zoo are born. After forming the instrumental side, the band have to face a major problem: finding a singer for their sound, a very difficult task, since we are talking about Klaus Meine, one of the most interesting voices in the world music scene. The Zoo organise long rehersal sessions, where dozens of singers try out, but nobody convinces the band totally… when one fine September day a certain Roby comes to the try-outs: a couple of songs are enough to convince The Zoo that the voice they have been looking for has landed in their hands! Then, only a few months after Roby's arrival in the band, in December 2002, The Zoo debut in Milan with a showcase to present their project to family, friends and co-workers . Stratospheric enthusiasm: the first and only Italian tribute band dedicated to the masters of Hard Rock debut in the tribute world with top marks from everyone present. In continuous artistic evolution, thanks above all to their indefatigable struggle towards perfection, the Zoo have built up their personal musical repertory from the hits of the Scorpions of the 70's to the recent successes of Unbreakable, presenting a tracklist of certain strong sound impact, keeping the band on stage for more than two hours. After some ups and downs, Mauro, Frank and Red leave the scene to return to their previous lives and the Zoo, after a break for reflection, come back to the live scene with a new line up, where Efrem (bass), Fabio (drums) and Alessio (rhythmic guitar) replace the old members. This change gives the band new energy: the wall of sound is even more compact, and the new animals' power produces unlimited enthusiasm … If you don't believe this, come and listen to their live concert… their open cages are waiting for you ! The Zoo end this short biography saying good-bye and thanking everyone, starting from their fans throughout the world, but particularly the members of the old line up, because without them, this story would never have taken off !
